Half Way Mark Resolution Check In

Referring back to my 2017 New Years Resolutions post, I have been trying a new restaurant each month this year. Here is a monthly recap and review of each of the new Atlanta restaurants I have visited so far!

January. The Optimist
The Optimist started off my year of a new restaurant each month. We went for my friend Hannah's birthday, and my recap is posted here. They have great seafood and a fun atmosphere, including a putting green to hang out at while you wait!

February. Miller Union
We visited Miller Union for my birthday, and you can read that recap here. The service and food were incredible!

March. Umi
Umi is probably (if not definitely) known to be the best sushi restaurant in Atlanta. They use the freshest ingredients and put an elegant twist to their food. Be prepared for a pricey check, and I would definitely make reservations as it tends to fill up fast!

April. Dolce
We visited Dolce for my friend Rachel's birthday, and I have a feeling I will be taking advantage of the rooftop views and happy hour specials a lot this summer! Their food is great and they offer 1/2 off pizzas on Wednesdays until 7 as well as live jazz music! I loved the Little Gem Salad and the Primo Amore pizza is delicious. I must also mention their amazing cocktails (shown below)!

I had been wanting to try Horseradish Grille for quite some time because of the quaint and charming exterior, but sadly I was not impressed. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and the tomatoes were very undercooked while the breading was soggy. For my meal I got the HRG Chopped Salad, which was okay. I might have to pay this one another visit to see if their brunch is a little more impressive!

1. Georgia Grille- Tucked in the corner of a Brookwood Hill's shopping center, this hidden gem did not disappoint. It is known for the lobster quesadilla, but I opted for the mushroom quesadilla. Rather than the typical quesadilla, the presentation took more of a "deconstructed" approach as the veggies were served under a rolled up tortilla. Obviously we also started with margs and queso... which were equally as delicious.

2. Il Localino- This authentic Italian restaurant has been on my bucket list for quite awhile. Known for the fun atmosphere and amazing food, Il Localino feels like it was taken straight out of Italy and placed in the heart of Inman Park. We visited for a friend's birthday, and the service was great and the food was amazing! The waiters brought bottles of wine and shards of Parmesan with hot bread upon our arrival. I ordered the cheese ravioli, but also sampled the gnocchi all vodka and linguini alla Don Michaele. To add to the fun, they brought each of us hats to wear during our dining experience. This one is a must try whether for a special occasion or just for fun!

Looking forward to adding more new restaurants to the list the next couple of months!
