We had another amazing Thanksgiving holiday with family! Charles and I headed up to Athens on Wednesday with the dogs (I was housesitting Bear and he had Darby). We had a yummy potato soup dinner followed by Salt in the movie room. The next morning, we headed to Athens Country Club for a Pickleball Round Robin! It was so so fun and a great way to start the day, and we even continued playing back at the Georgia Club for a rematch that afternoon! Ben brought baked brie, mom made stuffed dates, and I made a charcuterie for appetizers. Then, we quickly prepared our dishes and enjoyed a yummy meal with the whole family. We changed up this year's menu a bit and had stuffing (new recipe by Sarah), mashed potatoes, broccoli casserole (Ben), squash casserole, roasted vegetables (tried a Half Baked Harvest recipe this year and added sweet potatoes, but I would go back to my old recipe next time), ham, turkey, cranberry salad, and Swiss bean casserole. I used Mrs. Walker's recipe, and it was soo yummy! That night we watched Home Alone 2.

Thanksgiving 2022
The next day we lounged around and then went into town to stop by Creature Comforts before going to the Beechwood tree lighting ceremony with the family. The next day, my mom had the Avery kids over for a sleepover, so we hung out with them most of the day watching football and playing pickleball. Charles and I grabbed lunch at the club once he was back from running errands, and then w stopped by Ansley and Preston's to watch the Iron Bowl while my mom took the kids to a movie. Then, Charles and I grabbed a quick dinner at The Pine before heading back to the house with everyone. We watched Christmas with the Kranks, but fell asleep soon after.
On Sunday, Charles went back to Atlanta with Bear, and mom and I got ready for our mother-daughter trip to Sea Island! We arrived around 5, just in time for the sunset! We walked around the property a bit and then got ready for dinks at The River Bar followed by dinner at Tavola.
The next morning, we enjoyed a coffee outside before heading to a tennis clinic! We were the only ones signed up, so we got lots of exercise! Afterward, we went over to the Beach Club for lunch at the Snack Shack, where we both ordered the coconut shrimp tacos. Then, we rented bikes and explored the whole island! That evening we got ready to head to The Lodge to listen to the bagpiper, where I saw Dykes and Mr. Rhodes because they were playing in a golf tournament. It was the best weather and great scenery. As we were waiting on the shuttle in the lobby, we saw Hall! We headed back to the hotel and grabbed dinner at The River Bar, where we both had the best salads.
Our last day started bright and early with a yoga class. Then, we made our way to the spa, where we enjoyed all the amenities and great massages. We did some last-minute shopping and grabbed lunch at Southern Tide before we hit the road! This trip was so good for the soul as I got to enjoy some quality time with mom in one of the most beautiful places.
And that's a wrap on Thanksgiving Break 2022! Now the countdown to Christmas has begun :)
