Recently we traveled to Hilton Head Island for our annual family trip. I cannot remember the last time I took a week long vacation and it was the perfect way to celebrate the halfway point of summer vacation. We got in Saturday the 23rd around 4pm and got settled in before heading to Lowcountry Backyard for dinner. Since it was our first night we wanted something quick and casual, but overall we were not too impressed by the food or ambience for a Saturday night. Sunday we hit the beach all day and stayed in for a taco dinner at the house followed by a few rounds of Code Names! Monday night was our "Adult Date Night," so we grabbed drinks at Links before going to Poseidon for dinner. This restaurant was so fun and the food was amazing (especially the hush puppies). We even got to enjoy some dueling piano fun during our dinner!

Tuesday night we tried to go to the highly recommended Skull Creek Boathouse, but were not prepared for the lengthy wait time. Instead we walked next door to the new Skull Creek Dockside and it did not disappoint! Despite having a pretty long wait as well, there were plenty of outdoor activities to keep the kids occupied including a playground, Jenga, ping pong tables, and more! I would definitely go back to this fun waterfront restaurant!
Wednesday we grilled out at the house before going to Harbour Town for ice cream and to watch Gregg Russell! The kids loved it and we were so grateful the evening showers held off. Thursday we ate lunch at the tried and true Salty Dog Cafe and continued the restaurant hopping with dinner at Aunt Chilada's. Friday we soaked up every minute on the beach for our last full day before my mom's cousin Steve and his family stopped by for Giuseppi's pizza night and an early birthday celebrating for the two of them!
We headed back to Georgia late Saturday morning with tanner skin, fuller bellies, and happier souls! I am already counting down the days for next year!
