Spring Break Recap

One of the perks of being a teacher is that Spring Break still exists! This year my mom, dad, and fellow teacher friend Claire headed south to Key West for the week. We arrived late Sunday afternoon and got settled in. We stayed at The Marker, which was an adorable waterfront hotel located minutes from Duval Street.

Sunday night we ate dinner at Schooner Wharf Bar, which was a casual restaurant by our hotel that always has live music and is located right on the water. Monday morning we immediately went out to the pool, where we enjoyed reading our books and sipping on cocktails from the poolside bar.

Monday night we ventured to Duval Street and ate dinner at Bagatelle's. Afterwards we went to Fogarty's to watch the men's basketball championship!

Tuesday we decided to rent bikes and explore the island. First, we made a tourist stop to the Southernmost Point. Afterwards we headed to the beach at Fort Zachary Taylor!

Wednesday we went on a boat cruise to go snorkeling! Other than Claire getting seasick, it was so much fun exploring the third largest reef off the coast of Key West!

Thursday was supposed to be our last day, but our flight home got cancelled due to bad weather in Atlanta. Due to our traveling inconvenience, we booked a room at the Sheraton and stayed an extra night. Friday there were still no guarantees on when we would get a flight, so we rented a car and drove 13 hours home! Overall it was such a fun and relaxing trip! Now the countdown to summer :)
