Thanksgiving Break 2025

Thanksgiving Break started off the day before with an Annual Thanksgiving Gift Swap hosted by Sarah and Kaeti Shurling. The kids all brought a gift that they no longer play with and went home with something "new!" They also enjoyed decorating homemade gingerbread houses (Charlie and I observed). The leftover toys were then donated to Alps Elementary School, which was a great way to jumpstart the season of giving.

On Thanksgiving Day, we headed to mom and dad's house to start prepping our dishes and watched the Thanksgiving Day parade. I made everyone French 75s and then we enjoyed more champagne and wine with our dinner. The menu this year included roasted vegetables and Swiss bean casserole by me, cranberry salad, corn casserole, rolls, mashed potatoes, stuffed mushrooms (Ben), and stuffing (Sarah). Sarah and Sam won a turkey from the club, which was the best thing ever since no one had to stress about it! We had a great day eating yummy food, watching football, and spending time with family and topped the evening off with espresso martinis.

The next day, Charles, Charlie, and I grabbed lunch at Akademia and then went to get our Christmas tree from Cofer's! This started to get us in the Christmas spirit. Later that afternoon, we headed over to Sarah and Sam's to watch the Georgia vs. Georgia Tech game. On Saturday, Sadie, Nick, and Rhodes came over to visit for awhile! It was so fun getting to see them and watch the kids play together. Later that afternoon Charles and I joined Sarah and Sam for the City Club party at The Rose. Then, we decorated our Christmas tree, built our first fire in the house, and watched football!

It was such a fun-filled weekend with family and friends, and we loved starting new holiday traditions in our new town!
