Life Lately

I feel like I blinked and the fall weather and holidays are upon us. Life continues to be busy with packed weekends, which is so fun but makes the weeks go by quickly. We ended August by celebrating Sunil and Rachel's wedding in Atlanta, and let me just say, it was SO refreshing to have a wedding in town for once. We attended the Sangeet on Friday night, which was such a fun evening with Asian flare food, fun dancing, and great fellowship with some old friends. Saturday included an early wake-up call as we headed to the ceremony at 10 a.m. Afterward, we checked out the new Mexican restaurant in town, Pachengos, with Brendan and Jenna. Then, we quickly regrouped and got ready for the reception.

For Labor Day, we got a last-minute invite to join Ellie and Blake in Grayton Beach. We all arrived late Friday night and just grabbed dinner on the road. Once we arrived, we caught up for a bit and got settled before calling it a night. Saturday, we enjoyed some bagels and headed to the beach with Blake's sister and her husband. This was my first time experiencing Grayton, and I loved the laid-back vibe with the freedom to drive your car right up to the shoreline! After playing some beach games, sipping drinks, and enjoying the views, we headed back to the house to get ready for dinner at Raw and Juicy. Despite not being the dinner vibe we were all expecting (Blake's sister took charge of this plan), the food was so delicious and we had fun conversation.

We slept in on Sunday and then Charles and I headed to Black Bear to grab coffee for everyone. Ellie was feeling under the weather, so we took it slow and played mahjong at the house before getting the energy to head out to the beach. We soaked up the majority of the afternoon and then grabbed a drink at Chiringos before going back to the house to get ready for dinner. The four of us went to Red Bar for dinner, which was so fun and yummy. We played a few rounds of Skyjo and Code Names at the house followed by another morning of sleeping in.

For our last day, we headed to Scott and Caroline's for breakfast and then took their boat out. To wrap up the trip, we grabbed a fun lunch at The Bay before saying our goodbyes! This ended up being such a fun and easy getaway with great company.

Last weekend, we headed to Athens for some wedding planning! We arrived on Friday in time to meet with our priest. To celebrate, Charles and I grabbed drinks at The Lark before going to Sarah's to hang out with her and the boys. Then, Charles and I had a date night at The Expat for dinner. Once we got home, we watched tennis with mom and dad. Saturday morning, I convinced Charles to play tennis with me to warm up for the match I was supposed to have on Sunday. Then, we got ready and headed to our food tasting at ACC! Mom and Sarah joined us, and we had the best time sampling all the delicious food. Then, we went over to Ansley and Preston's to watch football. Afterward, we all headed back to Mom and Dad's for a cookout with the Avery kids. Charles and I headed back early on Sunday for church and my tennis match (which ended up getting canceled). It was such a great weekend full of family, football, and fun!
