Despite being my first summer not having any break from teaching, this one felt busier than ever! Here are some of the highlights from the past few weeks.
1. After Hilton Head, I had a quick turnaround before packing up and leaving town again, this time for a work trip in Milwaukee. This was my first official time to visit Wisconsin, and I loved this city! It had such a cool vibe with great beer, walkable sites, and yummy cheese curds. The best part about this trip was that Sarah got to join us! I flew out super early Saturday morning and grabbed lunch at the Public Market before getting ready for our first session. From there, we regrouped before our office's social at Who's on Third. A few of us ventured out to Red White and Blue for more drinks and dancing. Then, we called it a night so we wouldn't sleep through the 5k the next morning. After we ran the race (I was so proud of Sarah and me for running the whole time!), we joined the Athens crew for brunch at Wicked Hop... I loved this restaurant and they had an amazing bloody mary, served with a beer chaser! Then, Sarah and I walked around the area before getting ready for the Summerfest Social that evening, followed by a nightcap at The Pfister. Monday morning included the general session, lunch with my EA study group, more exploring, and dinner at Onesto with Sarah. We then met up with Sam at Capital Grille and had a few more drinks with his study group before calling it a night. On our last day, we enjoyed the last general session, lunch at the Public Market again, and the Kenny Chesney concert! It was such a great visit full of learning and fun.

2. The next weekend, I headed to Cashiers, NC for another annual trip with my Bible study group. This year looked a little different because Nancy was unable to join us. :( A few of us arrived Friday evening and enjoyed Soiree catering on the patio as usual. The rest of the group arrived Saturday morning, and we had breakfast, explored the property, ate a delicious lunch, and then spent some quiet time with God. Afterward, we got dressed in our white and headed to croquet, which Claire and I won! Then, we quickly changed and went to the club for the Paella Party by the pool. We played a few rounds of Family before calling it a night. We did a quick Bible study about love in honor of Diane's wedding the following weekend and then headed home!

3. For the first weekend in August, Charles and I had a quick date night at Tabla Friday night. Then, Saturday we got to have a Walker Family day! We started the morning at the Peachtree Road Farmers Market with the whole crew. Then, the boys took the kids to the aquarium while the girls went shopping per Greyson's request. We went to Huff Harrington and Baby Braithwaite before all meeting back up at Le Bilbloquet for some rosé. Then, we regrouped at our house before grabbing a yummy (and filling) dinner at Superica. We said our goodbyes, which was crazy to think the next time we see them they will have a baby brother or sister!

4. August also included my first bridal shower! The GGs hosted it at MaryAnne's house, and I could not have asked for a more special day. From the detailed ice balls and custom aprons to the fun games and great company, it was the best day celebrating Charles and me with some of my favorite people. After the party, a few of my bridesmaids and I headed to the Georgia Club pool for some drinks and fun. Then, Katie and Ellie stuck around so we went on a long golf cart ride before getting ready and going into town for dinner. We were able to snag a table at ZZ and Simone's, and enjoyed some pizza and pasta before walking over to The Root to meet some friends for drinks. Then, mom drove us back and we had a fun little sleepover! It was such a great weekend.

5. Last weekend I headed to Ponte Vedra, FL for another work trip. Luckily, my mom was joining us to help babysit the boys so I got to ride down with her! We got there around 2 on Saturday and quickly checked in (and rearranged rooms) before grabbing a late lunch on property. Then, we got ready and headed to our company's welcome reception. The next day, we had a quick CE session and then headed to the beach and pool. Then, we got ready and went to dinner at Palm Valley Fish Camp, where the boys slept through the entire meal. A few of us met up at the Tavern bar for a nightcap and then headed to bed. Saturday was a little more CE before hanging by the pool. Then, we went back to the room to celebrate baby Charles's 3rd birthday!! It was hard to peel them away from the new toys, but we made it to the pool and beach before final work dinner at the Seafoam Room.
Can't believe we are already heading into the "-Ber" months... bring on the football, cooler weather, and more wedding planning!
