Thanksgiving Break

This Thanksgiving break looked a little differently as I traveled to Texas to spend it with Charles' family! We flew out the Friday before and landed in Austin around 3:30. Charles's dad coordinated his incoming flight so that we could carpool to College Station together which was super helpful! We drove straight to Velvet Taco to meet up with the rest of the family before having a casual Friday night at the house. We hit the ground running on Saturday with brunch at Traditions Golf Club and the Texas A&M game. Charles and I mustered up some energy for a date night at Campfire, which is the restaurant inside of The Stella Hotel. Afterwards we grabbed a drink and game of chess at Hershel's before calling it a night.

Sunday morning we grabbed brunch at Ronin with the whole family. Between the farm-to-table vibe and fun cocktails, I loved this restaurants so much! Everyone took some much needed naps once we were home, and I took Doris for a little walk while everyone else was still asleep. That night we went to pick out a Christmas tree and had pizza and salad at the house!

Monday was a packed day that started off with a tour at the George Bush Library. Charles, Mr. Walker, and I picked up lunch at The Village Deli before the girls headed to White Elm Day Spa. We stopped at a few store on the way home and then had chili at the house for dinner.

Tuesday morning Greyson and I took a tennis lesson at Traditions. We walked up to the club for lunch where I started feeling sick. I rested the rest of the afternoon and finally felt better right before a yummy orzo with veggies dinner. Doris ended up getting sick, so we played a few rounds of Mahjongg with Charles' parents while everyone else called it a night. Wednesday was a lazy day at the house. The boys played golf that afternoon, so I took George up there to get some fresh air and catch them on the back nine. That night, the "young" kids went out dinner at Republic for a date night followed by a round of Golf (the card game).

On Thanksgiving, we lounged around the house before getting ready for a late lunch at the club. Marshall took Charles and I on a tour of Kyle Field afterwards where we got to see the amazing facilities! After naps, we had a spaghetti dinner, played a round of Golf, and caught up on Yellowstone.

Charles and I had an early wake up call on Friday to drive to Austin for our flight. Once we arrived back in Atlanta, we quickly regrouped at my house and headed straight to Athens. The girls started prepping for our (one day later) Thanksgiving feast! This year's menu included green bean casserole, squash casserole, corn casserole, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry salad, turkey and ham, roasted veggies, and rolls. After dinner, the kids headed back to Katie's and the adults watched Christmas Vacation. The next day, Charles, Sam, Sarah, and I all went to play tennis before hunkering down in the movie room for a day full of football. That evening we went over to Carol's for a get together with all of the GG's and their kids. She had the yummiest Mexican spread catered and we had a great time visiting with each other! We attempted to watch Cruella when we got home, but lost a few that quickly fell asleep. Charles and I hung around for a little on Sunday before heading home. We did a quick grocery run at Trader Joe's and picked up Sushi Kiku to top off the indulgent weekend!

Now the countdown to Christmas has officially begun!
