Connect
(v)- to have or establish a rapport; to place or establish in relationship
It is so
easy for me to get caught up in the hustle and bustle and some priorities get
pushed to the sidelines. This year I want to do a better job connecting- with friends
and family members, my faith, and my community. Whether it’s making a quick
phone call or writing a thank you note, I value reaching out to my long
distance friends and extended family to catch up and I want to be more
regular with that. I want to connect with God in a more meaningful way by
being more consistent with daily devotion and going to church. Lastly, I want
to connect with my community by trying new restaurants, exploring different
neighborhoods, and volunteering at local businesses.
Another
focus this year will be maximizing my time by being productive and
prioritizing tasks. In regards to work, it is so easy for me to
check out after the “must do’s” instead of taking a little extra time to
finish the “could dos,” which would save me time and stress in the long run. Maximizing my time with work could include front-loading by making copies for the following week, drafting emails
or newsletters ahead of time, grading papers a little at a time rather than all
at once, etc. Another area I want to maximize is with meal prepping. I waste so
much money on groceries that go bad or unused, so planning my meals in advance
each week will help avoid this. Maximizing my time will help me life each day to the fullest, and allow me to feel accomplished. I am looking forward to using my new planner to
hold me accountable with maximizing my time!
I love how it has spaces for just about everything- weekly to- do's, errands to run, etc. Here we go, 2018!
