July // It Ends With Us
This summer, I read one of my newest favorite books, It Ends with Us, which I finished in four days because it was that good. Lily falls for a seemingly perfect neurosurgeon, and everything in her life seems to be too good to be true. However, as they develop their relationship, flashbacks of her past continue to come up, and causes her to figure out what matters most.
September // Defining Decade
I typically go for the cheesy, fictional, love story novels, but after hearing about this book from so many people my age, I had to try it out. This book explains why "thirty is the new twenty" is actually not accurate, and explains how valuable this decade is in regards to work, love, and mind/body. I LOVED this book and the insight it offered. I also enjoyed the reassurance it provided as I related to the content as a twenty-something year old. Below are some of the quotes that really spoke to me.
October/November // Cancel the Wedding
It took me awhile to get hooked on this book because I started it during a busy time of year, but once I did I couldn't put it down! This story follows a woman's journey to discover her mother's hidden past, which leads her to reevaluate her life decisions and confront her uncertain future. This author resembles Emily Giffin, who is one of my faves, so I definitely what to check out what else she has to offer.
I loved that reading more books for pleasure was a priority for me this year, and I look forward to discovering some new reads for 2018!
