2017 "Lifestyle" Resolution Recap

Another resolution I had for 2017 was to try a new restaurant each month. Even though Atlanta has so many amazing restaurants, it's so easy to stick to my tried and true favorites when deciding where to go. I rounded out the year with six restaurants that have been on my must try list for quite awhile. Here is the month-by-month break down!
July. Upbeet
I have now been to Upbeet a few times, and you can read my first recap here. It is still one of my top go to restaurants for a light and healthy meal, and although the options are endless, one of my favorite bowls is the Bachelor! So good.

August. Storico Fresco
We visited Storico Fresco for my roommate Shelby's birthday dinner. Known for their fresh and authentic homemade pasta dishes, this restaurant is one I will be revisiting. We started with the squash blossoms, which were quickly devoured. As my main course, I went with the Cacio e Pepe, which was also so delicious. This is a great date night restaurant, place to take the parents, or even bring home one of their take-out premade dishes!

September. Doraku
Claire, Shelby, Nikita, and I went to Doraku for a girls' night out dinner. I enjoyed their twist on the typical edamame recipe, and I appreciated that they had a good speciality vegetarian roll because sometimes that can be hard to find. Although the food was good, the service took forever, so that had an affect on our overall experience.

October. Henri's
Known for their amazing shortbread cookies and other bakery goods, this little gem also serves great salads and sandwiches. They recently moved to a new location off of East Andrews, so I was dying to check out the new spot. I went with a veggie sandwich, but definitely want to try out the pimento cheese next time! Their bread makes any sandwich so delicious!

November. One. Midtown Kitchen/Sama
1. The first new restaurant for November was One. Midtown Kitchen for my friend Samantha's birthday. When we first pulled up to the stand alone building, I wasn't sure if it was a restaurant or a nightclub! However, the decor inside was beautiful and the food was awesome. I started with the mixed green salad, which was one of the best I have ever had. For my main course, Hilary and I split the pizza. The menu changes often, so I definitely want to pay this one another visit!

2. I was also able to try Sama last month, which is a "food for balance" focused restaurant that just opened in Buckhead. I went with the Pitta bowl, but substituted the chutney for hummus. I could definitely taste the freshness of ingredients, but overall I was not impressed. Next time I would like to try a smoothie or breakfast bowl.

December. Zocalo/Babalu
1. Last week Rachel, Shelby, and I went to Zocalo in Midtown before heading to the Botanical Garden. They serve great Mexican food that is reasonably priced.

2. Before our roomie gift exchange, Shelby, Claire, and I went to Babalu last night. This tacos and tapas restaurant recently opened, and I was so excited to try it. Named after the famous song from I Love Lucy, they constantly play the comedy series on their projector, which adds to the fun environment. I went with the black bean burger which did not disappoint.

And that's a wrap!
